Integrate your REC+ store with your ebay shop, select the products you want to list on ebay and receive orders back into REC+. The integration works for UK and US sites with ebay for the specific country the site is set as. If other countries are required in the future then a new development request will need to be raised (e.g. Canada, Germany). 


General Conditions

  • Products will need to be finished goods that are available to send out. You cannot show out of stock items or take backorders.
  • Prices will be the prevailing retail price i.e. the standard price or special offer price.
  • The selling option on ebay will be BUY NOW.
    Auctions are not supported but can be via a separate development request in the future.
  • Delivery charges are set up separately by you in ebay using their services.
  • Fulfilment of the order will be via yourselves and not the ebay fulfilment service.
  • Ebay fees are to be handled outside of this integration by your accounts team.

Products

  • Products will be created on ebay at the product / variation level, and updated when there are changes on the website product records.
  • Each product you wish to sell on ebay will need to have a single ebay category assigned on the product record and marked to Sync with ebay, which you do when editing a product in the ebay tab or via Batch Products Processor.

    Product 'Pre-flight Checks'

There is a pre-flight function for products to list on ebay which checks the product isn't: draft, deleted, missing a product code, missing any images, has a price less than 99p or is out of stock on the website; in those cases it doesn't send to ebay. These checks run both on initial listing or if there is a later product update which means the product should not be listed (including moving from being in stock to out of stock).


Stock Control

You can only list products on ebay which are available to purchase. 
If you use stock control on the website then this will automatically handle the listing when in- or out-of-stock. If you do not use the website for stock control then you will need to unsync the product from ebay (or update it within ebay if possible) and update your stock control process accordingly.

Orders

  • The REC+ store will receive orders from ebay which can take up to 15 minutes.
  • The store will create a new customer for the order or add it to an existing customer if there is a match, and create a new delivery address if required.
  • When an order is marked as despatched, a notification will be sent to ebay to confirm it has been shipped.
  • Orders will be sent to integrated systems the same as normal orders.
  • An identifier will be stored on the website order records to mark which orders came from ebay.

    Reporting On Ebay Orders

    These orders can be found in Order Manager > Quick Search > filter Traffic Medium = Market and Traffic Source = ebay. To use other standard reporting such as Top Products report, you could set up an additional ebay category and place all products you sell on ebay into that e.g. Category 5.


Marketing, Advertising & Negotiations

  • There is no integration into ebay marketing or advertising services. Price promotions are based on passing across a special price set on the REC+ store.
  • There is no integration into the ebay negotiation service which allows you to initiate offers to people who express an interest in your product (Add to Watch list or shopping cart).

Set Up

  • Contact your account manager to enable ebay and turn off legacy templates and set up the cron timer for sync'ing data.
  • In Admin > Connect > Utilities > ebay, accept their terms and sign in to your account
  • Go into Admin >Ebay Settings and complete the following:
    Sync products - tick
    Sync orders - tick
    Sync despatch status - tick
    Policy settings - follow the guidelines given
    Set up your ebay shop as per ebay's requirements (e.g. adding delivery costs in ebay)
  • Update the products you wish to sync with ebay
    Advice: Only use a small number of products to start with and build up over time.
    Consider adding these products into a further category for easier reporting eg category 5.
  • Check they appear in your ebay store
  • Make a purchase on ebay and check the order flows through into Order Manager on your store
  • Admin > Ebay logs will show the transactions that have taken place
  • Update your internal stock control procedure if not using the website to handle stock control for you
