'Early bird' access allows selected customers to purchase upcoming products before the official launch date entered on the product record.


'Exclusive' products allows selected customers to be able to purchase products which otherwise appear to customers as Enquire Only.


You first set up the products to be purchased via either of these two features which are then available to customers that are set to qualify either:

  • Automatically via the VIP Club 
  • Manually by granting access on individual User records in 'Status & Levels'

Enabling These Features On Products

1. Early Bird


via Product Manager > Details tab, set status to Upcoming and a launch date as normal and also tick 'Available to"Early Bird" customers.


2. Exclusive 

Via Product Manager > Prices & Delivery tab, set to Mark as enquiry only and also tick Except to "Exclusive" customers :


Manually Assigning Customers To Qualify

Via User Manager > Status & Levels, tick the Early Bird and/or Exclusive Customer fields and Save.


Automatically Assigning Customers To Qualify


The VIP Club automatically allows these features to be set up as rewards on VIP Levels. Once customers qualify for the level, the system will automatically tick the Early Bird and/or Exclusive Customer fields on the user record.



Template Layout Changes
In either of the 2 methods explained above you will also need to have your product category and product listing templates edited to display they can be purchased as Early Bird or Exclusive only.

New tags available to check if this is in use for a given product on both product.html.twig and product_info.html.twig for "product.is_early_bird_active" and "product.is_exclusive_active".

Want To Call Them Something Different Than 'Early Bird' or 'Exclusive'?

These can be renamed in Site Definitions:
