Product Feed For Distributors
Increase sales by making product data available to distributors in a CSV format via Data Exports & API in the User Account area which customers access when logging in. It is recommended that you update this area so there is a separate Distributor Hub and Retail Hub so that the export is only available to Distributors via their Hub.

The Distributor simply clicks on Data Exports & API to request access and once granted can then download the file.


To keep products up to date in the 3rd party system after the initial upload, the distributor can simply download your latest feed file on a regular basis and re-upload it to the 3rd party system. 


You could also use the separate Price List email task to send updates to distributors with price changes, new & discontinued products. Normally this would be set to run weekly.

Feed Format (suitable for Shopify out-of-the-box)

The feed is in a standard Shopify format,  meaning you can use it straightaway to feed products into Shopify which will also import product images automatically. The data is provided down to the option/variation level. 


Whilst the feed is in Shopify format, with a few column changes in Excel you may be able to use this for other systems. Otherwise contact us to request a quote to create the export file you need.


Approving Distributor Access To The Feed
Access control is in place, so Distributors first request access which you then grant. 

When they send a request for access you will receive an email notification to the main admin email address unless you set up another one in Email Notifications.

To approve access go into 

  • Admin > Dealer Export Access Manager

    You can also monitor how frequently Distributors are downloading the file to keep their stores up to date.


Set Up Instructions

  • Go into Admin > Customize User Area > Enable Shopify Export Area? tick to enable
  • Admin > Email tasks > new event available for Dealer Export Access Approved
    (notifies the distributor when they are granted access)
  • Admin > Email Notifications > new notification for Dealer Export Request
    (notifies the specified admin when distributors request access )
  • New Site Defines for DEALER_EXPORT_ACCESS_AREA & DEALER_EXPORT_ACCESS_AREA_INFO for customer area.


  • User Area > Shopify Export now shows if smart type not equal to 1/retail and it's enabled.
