Once you have added a product you can then edit its details and add additional information to the product record.

Remember to click UPDATE after changing your record.

Main Details Tab

Select the Google product category

Set the Group/Variant Product ID


You can also set to exclude the product from the feed here, this also applies to the price list app where excluded products are also removed. 

Additionally, you can also tick to "Exclude from price list update emails" if you're using the email task to regular send price list updates to Dealers etc.


SEO On Page Report - You can run this to see if your saved page content is correctly search optimised.


If you are using the  Commodity Code and Country of Origin fields (enabled in Site Settings -> Ecommerce) these will also show on this tab at the top under the product code.  Read how to set these up


You can also mark a product as discontinued here or enable auto-discontinue which will mark the product (and/or it's variations) as discontinued once it runs out of stock. 


Prices & Delivery Tab


Set your Quantity Price Breaks and Customer Group Pricing. Read more about setting up User Groups


Important: Check you have allowed multiple prices in your site settings > Use multiple prices on products?


Add in different quantity levels to set pricing levels for different groups. Leave the Group blank for the price to only apply to retail customers. Logged in users can only see their own group prices. Quantity breaks can appear on product pages via the product template design.


Example: Retail Price & Trade Price With Quantity Breaks Starting at 10 Products.

The table below shows an example based on the Cost Price field having a value of 70. Always click Update first to see the margin calculated.

Images & Video Tab


Add and position multiple images using drag and drop. Set the status = main if it's the main image or status = additional if its a thumbnail that appears underneath the main image.


Add a Youtube video link to create a play button underneath the main product image which plays the Youtube video on click.


Add a 3D / Augmented Reality model to show an interactive model of the product.

Options Tab


Product options allow people to make selections about their product or to add extra to it. Add your product options here. You can copy in Standard Options to save time and then edit / delete as appropriate.


If you have already added in options previously and want to edit them, use Click to show existing options to display them for editing.


The fields are:


Group = Option group such as Size or Colour

Name = Option e.g. Size 9 or red

Code = Product code for this option (if different to the main product code)

Price = Price difference to be added or subtracted to the main product price, e.g. 1.00 or -1.00. Note: This is the price including tax.
 = Special price for this option (also available for group prices


Qty = The quantity you have in stock (if you are using stock control at an option level)

Weight = Extra weight to be added to the product weight. The unit of weight is set in Site Definitions > WEIGHT_MEASUREMENT

Tip: Units of weight are whole numbers, so for example if you sell some items in grams and some in kilograms, then use grams as the measure. If you generally round up to the nearest kilogram (or pound), then use kilograms (or pounds) as the measure.

Search Type = Select "Default". The other specialist choices are explained in more detail below. 

Hide = unticked by default. If you wanted to hide an option from view, tick this. Useful for passing hidden variables as part of custom work.

ROT = unticked by default. "Rule Of Thousands" is only used for specialist purposes.

Product Variations

These are used in advanced features including product bundles and accounts integration

Search Type 


These are used by the Advanced Search Manager program to return matching results.


Default = this is the normal search type most stores will use as standard.

More Than = Uses the value entered in the name field to include this product in results where users search for a value.

Example: A user searches for wheels which can bear a load of more than 10kg. If this option has 12 in the Name field then it will be displayed because it is more than 10.

Less Than = Uses the value entered in the name field to include this product in results where users search for a value.

Range Array = Uses the value entered in the name field to enable this to be included in results where the value is LIKE this range.

JSON Auto Parts = This is used for specialist auto parts sites who search by MMY using an automatically generated JSON string.


Options & Google Merchant Centre Feed


If you are feeding your products into Google Shopping via their Merchant Centre feed, you may need to set up some standard data formats to comply with their data quality standards, especially for clothing. If you adhere to the option names below, then the system will automatically add these into the product feed for you. For full information read Google Merchant Centre Requirements.


Colour: The colour option only applies to items of clothing.

Size: The size option only applies to items of clothing.

Pattern: The pattern option only applies to items of clothing.

Material: The pattern option only applies to items of clothing.


If you need to add this data but it isn't a selectable option, then add it as attributes instead. 


Addons Tab


Product Addons allows you to prominently display additional products / services on the product page which the buyer can choose to add to their order if they want them. For example, addons could be useful additional parts, warranties or other services like gift wrapping.

Attributes Tab


Attributes are pieces of information about a product, such as a technical specification. Add your product attributes here. You can copy in Standard Attributes to save time and then edit / delete as appropriate.


Group/Type = Attribute group identifier, such as PC or Laptop

Attribute = Information or specification name, such as Hard drive or RAM

Value = Description of the attribute

Condition: new, used, refurbished

Age Group: adult, kids

Gender: male, female, unisex

Colour: The colour attribute is only needed if this is an item of clothing. Its also not needed if you have already setup options for the different colours.

Size: The size attribute is only needed if this is an item of clothing. Its also not needed if you have already setup options for the different sizes.

Pattern: The pattern attribute is only recommended currently, but may become required for certain types of clothing in the future so its a good idea to include it if it applies. Its also not needed if you have already setup options for the different patterns.

Material: The pattern attribute is only recommended currently, but may become required for certain types of clothing in the future so its a good idea to include it if it applies. Its also not needed if you have already setup options for the different materials.

GTIN: Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) of the item, this is not needed for clothing items, or items that have the manufacturer set and product code.


Custom Labels For PLAs. You can also add "custom labels" for grouping products together to make their PLA ad management easier


Social Media Tab


Send information about this product to the networks to which you have already connected.


Price Check Tab


Check your prices against competitors on Google Shopping and ebay with this handy, time-saving tool.


You can also tick to exclude this product from the Google Shopping feed.


ebay Template

The system creates a branded template so you can copy this code and paste it into your ebay listing.


Stock


Change your stock levels and set up alerts here.


Select an option group which is used for stock control on this product. For example, if you sell shows then you might want to stock control based on size, so you would select the Size option here. If you leave this blank it uses the main product level for stock control. 


Tip: You can only use a single product option for stock control, not combination. So if you wanted to stock control "green size 9 Crocs shoes" then you would set up a separate product record for say green Crocs, blue Crocs etc and select the Size option on each product for stock control.


Enter Bin Location / Picking / Assembly instructions which can then be printed out for orders.


Bundles / Bill of Materials (BOM) Tab


Specify if a product is made up of other products, for example, Bundles.

Associations & Alternatives Tab


You can associate products to one another so they appear on each other's product pages. The secondary products appear in sliders underneath the main description area. You can control whether they display via site settings > Products & Store Pages Setup.

For cross sell, enter the product ID of the secondary product, tick Related and tick Copy To Reverse if you want to show this same association with the cross-sell product being the main product and this product being the secondary product.

For up-sell, tick Alternative instead of Related.

Review Tab


Manage your product reviews here. Each can have a status of New, Checked and Suspended. Click Add Review
to create a new one. Leave the customer ID blank and it will show as a staff review. Tick Featured and this review will appear in the Featured Review sidebar app which you can add in Page Manager. Otherwise product reviews will appear on the product pages unless you have elected to turn them off in site settings > Hide ratings on products.


Under the existing reviews you'll also find a new "Review Sharing" area which allows you to share reviews from one product to another. E.g. if you sell 2 products that are the same but different sizes or colours then you could use this to share the reviews between them


Forms Tab


Shows enquiries that have been made about the product, as well as details on users who have subscribed to be notified when the product is launched.


If Expert Answers is enabled, this tab will also show questions that have been asked about the product.


Filter Tags Tab


Add / manage the filter tags for this product.

Orders Tab


This defaults to showing Order History where you can view and filter orders containing this product.


You can toggle viewing the Product's Lifecycle from here as well, offering data on when the product was launched, when the first sale was and total profit from that product since launch but you can also modify this date range reported directly here. 


The lifecycle report here also shows the RRS group to the top right at a top level product and can be switched to show variation level by changing the variation to the left (if you're using RRS groups).
